13.5 hour epic this Sunday the 1st of April!!

EYB will attempt to conquer the mountains ranging from Cape Point to the CBD in a 13.5 hour epic this Sunday.................... Only joking athletes- April fools!!

This Sunday sees us returning to a favorite peak above the city bowl - Lions Head. This hike offers maximum views with reasonably little effort, it is a fairly easy winding pull up the slopes of Lions Head to the summit, so if you've been off the mountain for a while, lets get out there and enjoy!

That's where we're heading

Chris soaking up the vibe last time

Beauty abounds on the way up

Sunday's route will start at the Kloof Nek Car Park.

We'll cross the road, dip below Kloof Road for a while, continuing down through the plantation. We'll eventually cross back over Kloof road to hook up with the Lion's Head Pipe Track which will lead us up/down/up and around Bantry Bay/Sea Point side of the mountain. From there we'll take the path up and around to summit at 669m!!

We will then enjoy all the vibe time the Head has to offer.

We'll then descend down the jeep track towards the Signal Hill Road car park, and walk the short distance back to the Kloof Nek car park!!

Hike Time: The hike should take between 2.5 and 3hrs.

Meet time: 8:15 to start walking at 8:30am.

Where to park: Kloof Neck car park.

What to bring: Sun cream, hats, water, warm top and anything else you may like to bring along.

PHV: la Med has always been good to us, could head back there for a pizza and a Heineken!

Four legged athletes: Unfortunately the last climb to the summit is not really that dog friendly, and it's not recommended by the Parks Board.

See you there athletes!
