Devil's Sunday treat

A perfect hiking morning awaited us on Sunday, as 9 plus 2 headed onto the slopes of Table Mountain to attack the steep contours of Devil's Peak. Legs were put into action from the word go and a cheeky ascent up to the saddle got the heart rate monitors beeping off the charts! Just as we thought our work was done for the day, another short dash was required from the legs before we settled into one of the best views in Cape Town! This was a first for EYB and it certainly didn't disappoint the Sunday Athletes!

Our journey back down the slopes proved more treacherous than we expected as a fellow puff adder sat sunning itself near the path, awaiting our tasty arrival! Thank goodness for Camel Man....where would EYB hikers be without him!? We received forewarning from another group of UCT hikers, so were luckily well informed as we tiptoed (screaming) our way past its secret location, and were greeted with hissing from our fellow reptile friend!

With some strained ankles and tired Triathlete legs we took a team decision to head back down the contour to the cars and settle into a table at YUM for a well earned breakfast and beer!!

Yet another well earned day on the mountains filled with Adventure (The snake), Exercise (What hill?What disco legs?), Views (I can see Noordhoek..hmmm?!), and of course great EYB Vibe and Friends!
